What is the technology behind "The Stick"? PDF Print E-mail
Written by Ken Zelez

Body

The Stick has the technology to interact with the soft tissue in our bodies.  It is different than any other massage device because the user has full control over all the variables of the massage.  It is up to the individual user how many passes over the muscle is needed.  In addition, it is up to them user the amount of force that is place on "The Stick".

A Brief Overview:
The Stick has been the focus of numerous articles, manuscripts, awards and honors. Five independent studies corroborate its effectiveness and ongoing research continues to expand its boundaries.

"Normal Muscles do not contain trigger points. Normal muscles have no taut bands of muscle fibers, are not tender to firm palpation,...and do not refer pain in response to applied pressure."
Myofascial Pain and Dysfunction, Janet G. Travell, MD & David G. Simons, MD

Physiology behind the Technology:

Intracell Technology™ is founded on solid, scientific evidence in muscle physiology. It employs a sophistication that attracts top level athletes, performing artists and those who aspire to obtain peak physical performance.

Intracell Technology™ engages the use of a simple, easy to use tool called the "The Stick". The Stick is a non-motorized device that is composed of a semi-rigid core around which independent, 1 inch spindles freely spin. This instrument was engineered to assist health care providers in the deep manipulation of soft tissues such as muscle.

The Stick has proved to be highly effective at its intended function, but new evidence strongly suggests that the benefits of Intracell Technology™ far outpace its original intentions. Read "Intracell Technology:  A Brief Review" to see the benefits of The Stick which were researched by Dr. Andrew Bonci of the Sport Biomechanics Laboratory in New York.

Nutritional Biomechanics:

The Stick helps to strengthen your muscles by employing Nutritional Biomechanics.

"In principle, Nutritional Biomechanics exploits the unique biomechanical relationship between muscle and its nutrient delivery system. Patient care for fibromyalgia syndrome, trigger point pain, muscle strain and delayed muscle soreness is especially magnified by supplementing the patient with a balanced nutritional drink 20-30 minutes prior to therapeutic stretching and massage. Such a protocol will insure that the blood entering the newly relaxed muscle is nutrient-dense. A full complement of nutrients will provide the raw materials needed for healing."
